About Me the Novice
I am a 14-year veteran turned novice in the world of Technology. I'm following my dream of having a career in Cybersecurity and Technology. Hints the reason I name the blog "The World of Tech through the Eyes of a Novice". So, follow me as I start my journey in Tech. My first taste of the basics of Technology and literacy can be as awe inspiring as it can be terrifying. Digital tools: For someone not familiar with digital tools, the first thing that I encounter is the basic hardware, which is a computer, smartphone, and tablet. A big part of learning how to use these devices is understanding things like operating systems, applications, and user interfaces. Digital literacy, on the other hand, adds the capacity to access, evaluate, and communicate information effectively, which entails using search engines, creating documents, and sending emails.
For most, it begins with a curiosity and a desire to discover; for me, it's a chance at a new life and a dream to have a career in Technology and Cybersecurity. Simple tasks, such as typing or clicking, would seem foreign at first, but, as with anything, they become second nature with practice. One of the first things I learned as a novice is that Technology is not all about the tools; it is about solving problems and critical thinking, too. This type of literacy is more than reading and writing; it involves managing how to navigate a digital world safely and responsibly.
This process is significantly aided by mentorship and directed learning. Instructions from educators, friends, or online tutorials unravel complex capabilities. As I explore, the novice grows in confidence, learning how Technology can increase creativity, productivity, and connectivity. Using the course material as a foundation upon which the possibilities are endless and where succeeding in a more digital society is now the norm.
